Amy Goodman with Denis Moynihan: Celebrating an expanding world of grassroots community journalism

Friday, November 27th, 7 p.m. at Town Hall Seattle

Tickets $15 - $25 available online and at the door the night of the event.

Amy Goodman, author of the newly-released collection of essays "Breaking the Sound Barrier," is the host and executive producer of Democracy Now!, a national, daily, independent news program airing on over 700 radio and television stations around the world. Goodman's investigative reporting has won many of the industry's top honors, including the George Polk Award and the Robert F. Kennedy prize for International Reporting. Democracy Now! can be heard on KBCS at 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., weekdays.

Afterparty at Hidmo (20th and Jackson). Hidmo and KBCS work closely together. It's an arts and community center cleverly disguised as an Eritrean restaurant. Recently, Hidmo created the Hidmo Community Empowerment Project, was shortlisted for the Stranger Genius Award, and was profiled on Seattle Channel.

The event kicks off a week of actions marking the tenth anniversary of the Seattle WTO gathering, including a weekend-long People's Summit with a diverse lineup of speakers and workshops.

Hope you can make it! Sabrina Roach, (425) 564-4069
